Vishy Anand Chess Club scored a resounding 5-1 victory over Colombo Chess Club in the 5th and final round to become the Champions in the Colombo Zone of the Inter Clubs Chess Championships 2001/2 by scoring 23.5 points.

VACC team signed up with Asian German Sports Exchange Programme (AGSEP) to tour Germany from 5th October to 26th October 2002. VACC becomes the first local team to take part in a European tour. VACC is the strongest Chess Club in Sri Lanka with more than six IR players in it's team.
